Samaria was a region despised by the Jews, its people considered outsiders. Yet Scripture says Jesus must needs go through Samaria, where he met a woman at a well and offered her living water, and many believed.
Samaria stands for the barriers the gospel crosses. Jesus went where others would not, and later commissioned his followers to be witnesses in Samaria and to the ends of the earth.
