Where should I start reading the Bible?
If you are new to the Bible, you don’t have to begin at page one. A gentle place to start is the Gospel of John, which was written so that readers might come to know Jesus. From there, many people read Psalms for prayer and Proverbs for daily wisdom — a chapter of each is a lovely daily rhythm.
These guides are here to help you find your footing in any book: what it’s about, what to look for, and a handful of verses to carry with you. Read a guide, then read the book itself slowly — there is no hurry, and every morning is a new place to begin.
