The Gospel of Mark
The action Gospel — a fast-moving account of Jesus the Servant who came to give his life.
Overview
Mark is the shortest and fastest-moving of the four Gospels, written for action rather than reflection. Its favourite word is 'immediately' — event tumbles after event as Jesus heals, teaches, and moves toward the cross.
Mark presents Jesus above all as the Servant who came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life a ransom for many. It's a bracing, urgent place to meet him.
