Reading a verse well

A verse can be quoted a thousand times and still be misunderstood. The most-loved lines in Scripture often carry more — and sometimes something different — than the version we remember. Reading a verse well means noticing its words, its setting, and the God behind it.

Each explanation here quotes the verse in full, in the King James Version, and then unfolds it slowly and plainly — no seminary assumed. Our aim is never to replace the verse with our commentary, only to help you hear it more clearly, and carry it into your day.
