Mark 11:24 Meaning — Believe That You Receive

Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. Mark 11:24 is one of Jesus' boldest statements about the power of believing prayer.

The heart of it is confident faith — praying not with a shrug but with real expectation that God hears and acts. Jesus repeatedly links answered prayer to trust; half-hearted, doubting prayer reflects a small view of God.

This is not a blank cheque for whatever we want; the wider New Testament teaches us to pray according to God's will. But it is a strong rebuke to timid, faithless praying. When we come to a good and able Father, we can ask boldly and trust him with the answer.
