2 Corinthians 5:7 Meaning — We Walk by Faith, Not by Sight
(For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
What does 2 Corinthians 5:7 mean?
For we walk by faith, not by sight. Second Corinthians 5:7 is only seven words long, but it describes the entire posture of the Christian life.
To walk by sight is to be governed by what we can see, measure, and prove — to trust only the visible. To walk by faith is to order our lives around what God has said, even when we cannot yet see it. Both are ways of walking; the question is what we trust.
This does not mean faith is blind or irrational; it means it looks beyond the visible to the God who is real but unseen. Much of the life of faith is walking forward without full sight of the road, trusting the One who does see it all. Faith, not sight, is how God's people move.
