First Steps of Faith
A 7-day plan for new believers — the foundational truths to stand on as you begin walking with God.
Part of Understanding the Bible
Day 1 / 7
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 3:16, KJV This is where it all begins — not with what you must achieve, but with how much you are loved. Love moved first.
Day 2 / 7
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Ephesians 2:8, KJV You're saved by grace, received through faith — not earned by works. That takes the pressure off your performance and puts it where it belongs: on Christ.
Day 3 / 7
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Romans 10:9, KJV The terms are simple and clear: confess Jesus as Lord, believe He rose. If that's the trust of your heart, take God at His word — thou shalt be saved.
Day 4 / 7
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
2 Corinthians 5:17, KJV Whatever your past, in Christ you are a new creature. You don't have to drag the old record into your new life with God.
Day 5 / 7
Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
Philippians 1:6, KJV Your growth doesn't depend on you being impressive. God started this, and God will finish it. On the days you feel like a failure, this verse holds you.
Day 6 / 7
These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life
1 John 5:13, KJV Assurance is part of the gift. You can know you have eternal life — not guess nervously — because it rests on what Christ did and what God said.
Day 7 / 7
Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
Joshua 1:9, KJV As you take your first steps, hear this: the LORD your God is with you wherever you go. You're not walking this new road alone.
