The Morning Psalm
Old Testament

The Book of Zephaniah

The Lord in your midst — warning and a stunning promise of God rejoicing over you.

Overview

Zephaniah warns of the day of the Lord, a coming reckoning, and calls the humble to seek God. It does not soften the seriousness of sin.

But it ends with one of the most tender pictures in all of Scripture: God in the midst of his people, rejoicing over them with singing. Warning gives way to astonishing love.
