Ask, seek, knock

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
If you are new to faith, prayer can feel like a language everyone else learned somewhere. What are the right words? The right posture? Jesus’ instruction is disarmingly simple: ask. Seek. Knock. Three things a child can do — which is rather the point.
Notice there is no technique in the verse. No required vocabulary, no minimum eloquence. The verbs are ordinary because the door is meant to be reachable. God is not impressed into answering by polish; He is a Father, and the asking itself is the relationship beginning.
So start small and start honest. “Help me understand this.” “Thank You for today.” “I’m not sure You’re there — show me.” Every one of those is asking, seeking, knocking. And the promise attached is not maybe: given, found, opened.
