Learning to Forgive
A gentle 7-day journey toward releasing what you've been carrying — grounded in the forgiveness you've received.
Part of Verse Collections
Day 1 / 7
And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.
Ephesians 4:32, KJV The pattern is set at the end of the verse: forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you. This week begins not with your wound but with your pardon.
Day 2 / 7
As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.
Psalm 103:12, KJV As far as the east is from the west — a distance that never closes. Before asking you to forgive, God shows you how he does it: completely, and without a return journey.
Day 3 / 7
For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
Matthew 6:14, KJV Forgiving and being forgiven are joined by Jesus himself. Unforgiveness blocks the very channel grace flows through. Ask today: what am I still holding, and what is holding me?
Day 4 / 7
Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?
Matthew 18:21, KJV Peter hoped seven times was generous; Jesus answered seventy times seven — forgiveness beyond counting. Some wounds must be forgiven daily until the forgiving is finished.
Day 5 / 7
Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
Romans 12:19, KJV Avenge not yourselves — hand the debt to the only Judge who sees everything. Forgiveness is not saying it didn't matter; it is transferring the case to a higher court.
Day 6 / 7
Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
Colossians 3:13, KJV Forbearing and forgiving — the daily version, for the small frictions as well as the deep cuts. Even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye: the standard, and the power source.
Day 7 / 7
Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.
Luke 23:34, KJV Father, forgive them — prayed from the cross, about the people driving the nails. This is where the week has been leading. Pray a blessing, by name, over the person you are releasing.
