Peace for Anxious Hearts

A 14-day journey through Scripture for worry and anxiety — one verse and a gentle word each morning.

Part of Comfort & Grief

  1. Day 1 / 14

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
    Philippians 4:6–7, KJV

The antidote to anxiety here isn't trying harder to relax — it's prayer. Hand God the worry, and in its place He gives a peace that guards your heart, one deeper than your circumstances.

  2. Day 2 / 14

Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
    Isaiah 41:10, KJV

Four promises answer one fear: I am with thee, I am thy God, I will strengthen, I will uphold. Anxiety says you're alone with it; God says otherwise.

  3. Day 3 / 14

Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
    1 Peter 5:7, KJV

Cast — throw — your care onto God, not because He's obligated, but because He cares for you. You were never meant to carry it all yourself.

  4. Day 4 / 14

Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
    Matthew 6:34, KJV

Most worry is borrowed from tomorrow. Jesus gently calls you back to today — you have grace for this day, not for a hundred imagined ones.

  5. Day 5 / 14

In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul.
    Psalm 94:19, KJV

The psalmist knew a crowded, anxious mind too. And he knew the answer: God's comforts, meeting the noise from the inside and quieting it.

  6. Day 6 / 14

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
    John 14:27, KJV

Jesus gives a peace unlike the world's — not dependent on everything going right, but rooted in Him. It's a gift to receive, not a mood to manufacture.

  7. Day 7 / 14

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
    Isaiah 26:3, KJV

Perfect peace follows a mind stayed on God rather than fixed on the worry. Where you rest your thoughts decides whether anxiety or peace fills the day.

  8. Day 8 / 14

Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.
    Psalm 55:22, KJV

To sustain is stronger than to cope. Lay the burden down, and God holds both it and you — steady, unmoved.

  9. Day 9 / 14

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
    Matthew 11:28, KJV

The invitation is aimed straight at the anxious and heavy-laden. You don't have to sort yourself out first — come as you are, and receive rest for your soul.

  10. Day 10 / 14

I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.
    Psalm 34:4, KJV

Not some fears — all. Bring the whole trembling list to God. He has heard smaller prayers than yours and answered every one.

  11. Day 11 / 14

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
    2 Timothy 1:7, KJV

Whatever the spirit of fear is, it didn't come from your Father. What He gives is power, love, and a sound mind — a steadier way to think.

  12. Day 12 / 14

What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.
    Psalm 56:3, KJV

You may not be able to stop fear from rising, but you can decide where to point it. The moment it comes, turn it into trust.

  13. Day 13 / 14

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
    Philippians 4:8, KJV

Anxiety thrives on 'what ifs.' Deliberately turn your mind toward what's true, good, and lovely — what you feed grows, so feed the better things.

  14. Day 14 / 14

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
    Psalm 46:1, KJV

Not a distant help or a someday help — a very present one, here in the middle of it. As this journey closes, let this be your resting place: God is your refuge, right now.
