The Fruit of the Spirit

Seven days in Galatians 5 and beyond — the ninefold fruit the Spirit grows in an ordinary life.

Part of Verse Collections

  1. Day 1 / 7

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
    Galatians 5:22, KJV

Fruit is grown, not manufactured. Love, joy, peace — the list begins with what we most want and can least produce alone. Ask the Spirit today to do the growing.

  2. Day 2 / 7

Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
    Galatians 5:23, KJV

Meekness and temperance close the list — the quiet fruits. Against such there is no law: no one ever regretted growing them. Which fruit is thinnest in you? Name it to God.

  3. Day 3 / 7

I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
    John 15:5, KJV

The secret of fruitfulness is not effort but attachment. Branches do not strain to make grapes; they abide. Stay connected to Christ today — his life produces what yours cannot.

  4. Day 4 / 7

Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
    1 Corinthians 13:4, KJV

Love, described in working clothes: patient and kind, not envious or boastful. Substitute your own name for 'charity' in this verse and let it diagnose gently.

  5. Day 5 / 7

Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.
    Philippians 4:4, KJV

Joy is commanded, which means it cannot depend on circumstances — Paul wrote this from prison. Rejoice in the Lord: he is the one part of your day that never changes.

  6. Day 6 / 7

And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
    Colossians 3:15, KJV

Let peace rule — the word pictures an umpire making the call. When two paths compete today, let the peace of God arbitrate. And be ye thankful: gratitude keeps the fruit sweet.

  7. Day 7 / 7

And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
    Galatians 6:9, KJV

Fruit takes seasons, and growers grow weary. Do not faint: in due season you will reap. The Spirit finishes what he plants — in you, too.
