The Morning Psalm
Greek word

Soteria

salvation; deliverance

Say so-tay-REE-ah

Soteria is the noun for salvation, naming the whole great rescue God works in Christ. It gathers up deliverance from sin's penalty, power, and one day its very presence — a salvation past, present, and future. Scripture insists it is found nowhere else: there is no other name given among men whereby we must be saved.

Because soteria is God's doing, it is a gift to be received, not a wage to be earned. Yet it is a rescue so complete that it reshapes the whole of life: those who receive it are called to work it out, letting the salvation within them show in how they live. Soteria is both the safest possession a person can have and the most transforming.

Soteria in Scripture

Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
Acts 4:12, KJV
