Hebron

The city of the patriarchs and David's first capital

Hebron is one of the oldest cities in the Bible, where Abraham settled and built an altar, and where the patriarchs were buried. Centuries later, David reigned there for seven years before taking Jerusalem.

Hebron is a place of covenant roots — the family of faith putting down its earliest markers in the land God promised.

Hebron in Scripture

Then Abram removed his tent, and came and dwelt in the plain of Mamre, which is in Hebron, and built there an altar unto the LORD.
Genesis 13:18, KJV
