The star led the wise men from the east to seek and worship the newborn King. We have seen his star, they said, and are come to worship him — a light in the sky drawing seekers to the true Light of the world.
Jesus is himself called the bright and morning star. The star stands for God's guidance to those who seek him, and for the dawning of hope in a dark world.
