Aaron was the elder brother of Moses and became the spokesman God gave him — he shall be thy spokesman unto the people. He was anointed as Israel's first high priest, bearing the names of the twelve tribes on his breastplate before the LORD, and his priestly line served for centuries.
The famous blessing he was given to speak over Israel is still prayed today: the LORD bless thee, and keep thee; the LORD make his face shine upon thee. Aaron's rod that budded became a sign of God's chosen priesthood.
Aaron has been a steady favourite for decades — strong, warm, and biblical, at the head of many alphabetical lists.

Aaron in the Bible
And he shall be thy spokesman unto the people: and he shall be, even he shall be to thee instead of a mouth, and thou shalt be to him instead of God.
