The Morning Psalm
Boy's name

Andrew

Manly; strong

Origin GreekSay AN-droo

Andrew was the first to follow Jesus, and his very first act was to find his brother Simon Peter and bring him too: we have found the Messias. That became the pattern of his life — Andrew is the one who brings the boy with the loaves to Jesus, and who brings the enquiring Greeks to him.

A fisherman before he was a fisher of men, Andrew is the quiet connector, less famous than his brother but always pointing others to Christ. Tradition holds he was later martyred on an X-shaped cross.

Andrew is a strong, handsome classic — enduring the world over, and warmly shortened to Andy or Drew.
