Mark

John Mark was a young man in the early church — his mother's house in Jerusalem was a gathering place for the believers. He traveled with Paul and Barnabas, faltered, and was later fully restored: Paul, near the end, asked for him by name, for he is profitable to me for the ministry.

Drawing on Peter's memories, Mark wrote the shortest and fastest-moving Gospel, all action and urgency, showing Jesus as the Servant who came not to be ministered unto, but to minister. His story is one of second chances.

Mark is a clean, strong classic — timeless and unpretentious.
