Phoebe (Phebe in the King James Version) was a servant of the church at Cenchrea whom Paul commended warmly, calling her a succourer of many — a helper and patron. By long tradition she carried Paul's letter to the Romans to Rome itself, entrusted with one of the most important documents in Christian history.
Her name means bright or radiant. She represents the many faithful women whose service and support made the early church's mission possible.
Phoebe is a bright, charming classic — increasingly popular for its cheerful, radiant sound.
