Susanna is named among the women who followed Jesus and ministered unto him of their substance — supporting his ministry with their own resources. Though Scripture tells us little more, her single mention places her in the devoted circle of women whose generosity sustained the work.
Her name means lily, a flower Jesus himself pointed to as a picture of God's care: consider the lilies. She represents the many quietly faithful supporters of the gospel.
Susanna is a soft, floral classic — vintage and gentle, shortened warmly to Susie or Sanna.
