We all have days when we're discouraged, weary, or in need of a lift. In those moments, God's Word is a wellspring of encouragement. Here are uplifting Bible verses to strengthen a weary heart.
God is with you
When you feel alone or afraid, hold on to this promise: 'Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee.' Whatever you're facing, you don't face it alone — God is with you, to strengthen and help.
Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
Be strong and courageous
For the days you need to be brave, God's word to Joshua speaks to us too: 'Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid... for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.' Courage isn't the absence of fear; it's remembering who goes with you.
Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
Strength for anything
When a task feels beyond you, this verse encourages: 'I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.' Not superhuman success, but a strength supplied by Christ to face and endure whatever comes.
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
Cast your cares on him
When you're weighed down, you don't have to carry it alone: 'Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.' Hand your burdens to God, because he genuinely cares about you and what you're carrying.
Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
When you need a lift, the Bible reminds you that God is with you, that you can be strong and courageous because he goes with you, that Christ gives strength for anything, and that you can cast every care on a God who cares for you. Let these verses encourage your weary heart today. You are not alone, you are not without strength, and you are deeply cared for by God.
