Paul writes with settled confidence: he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. The work in you was God's idea, and God finishes his ideas.
Discouragement usually comes from auditing your own progress. This verse moves the audit: the question is not whether you are consistent, but whether he is — and he is.
You are a work in progress with a faithful craftsman. Today's slow going does not threaten the completion date.
