A lamp in the ancient world lit a circle a few feet wide. That is the psalmist's picture of Scripture: not a floodlit horizon, but light enough for the next step.
We often stall waiting for the whole road to be visible. God rarely grants that. He gives a lamp, and lamps only help people who keep walking.
Read a little this morning and take the step it lights. More light comes as you go — that is how lamps, and faith, both work.
