Meant for good

17 July 2026 · 1 min read

But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.
Genesis 50:20, KJV

Joseph looked back at betrayal, slavery, and prison and said something astonishing to the brothers who caused it: ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good. Same events, two intentions — and God's held.

This is not a claim that the evil was good. It is a claim that God out-plots evil, weaving even wrongs into rescue. It took Joseph years to see it; the seeing usually comes late.

Whatever chapter you are in, the story is not finished. The God who meant Joseph's pit for a granary has not stopped working things toward good.
