He restoreth my soul
By Niall Florence · 22 July 2026 · 1 min read
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
In the middle of the shepherd psalm sits a short sentence that carries centuries of relief: he restoreth my soul. Souls, evidently, need restoring — and God does it.
Restoration assumes wear. The soul frays from grief, hurry, and plain use. There is no shame in that; sheep tire, and the shepherd expects it. What matters is where the worn soul is taken.
Bring yours to him this morning without apology. Restoration is not a reward for the strong; it is a service the Shepherd delights to do.
