Cast, and be sustained

By Niall Florence · 15 August 2026 · 1 min read

Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.
Psalm 55:22, KJV

The psalm gives an exchange rate: cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee. You hand over weight; he hands back sustaining.

Casting is a real motion, not a mood. Name the burden out loud, place it deliberately in stronger hands, and refuse to pick it back up on the hour. The repeated casting is normal; do it as often as needed.

The promise is not always removal — it is sustaining. Held up, kept standing, not suffered to be moved. That is enough for today.
