Let it shine

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Jesus has just told a hillside of ordinary people — fishermen, farmers, mothers, the overlooked — you are the light of the world. Not you could be, if you improve. You are. The only instruction that follows is not to hide it.
Notice the mechanics of the verse: people see the works, and glorify the Father. Light, done rightly, is transparent — it draws the eye through itself to its source. The quiet kindness, the patience under pressure, the generosity nobody required: these shine precisely because they point past you.
You will be in particular rooms today that no one else will be in. That is not scheduling; that is placement. Whatever else the day holds, it holds people who will see — so let it shine, plainly and without performance.
