Looking unto Jesus

19 July 2026 · 1 min read

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Hebrews 12:2, KJV

Every runner knows the rule: you drift toward whatever you stare at. Hebrews turns it into a spiritual law — run looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.

There is plenty else to look at: the other runners, the crowd, your own tired legs. The race is not won by studying any of them. It is won by a fixed gaze on the One who ran first and finished.

He authored your faith; he will finish it. Today's portion of the race only requires that you keep him in view.
