Through, not from

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
This verse has been printed on enough merchandise to make it sound like a slogan for winning. Its actual context is smaller and far better: Paul, in prison, explaining that he has learned to be content whether full or hungry, abounding or in need. “All things,” in context, mostly means all circumstances.
That makes the promise more useful, not less. Days rarely need championship strength; they need enduring strength — to stay kind when tired, to keep working when unthanked, to be content when the season is lean. That is the “all things” Paul had proven.
And the strength is “through Christ” — flowing, not stockpiled. You will not wake feeling equipped for the whole day, and you are not meant to. The supply comes through connection, drawn as needed, sufficient at the moment of use.
