The unchanging One

12 June 2026 · 1 min read

Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
Hebrews 13:8, KJV

Nearly everything you will touch today is in the middle of changing — prices, plans, headlines, moods, the versions of software and the versions of people. We live in perpetual update. This verse plants one fixed point in all of it: Jesus Christ, the same.

The same yesterday: everything the Gospels show Him being — patient with the slow, gentle with the broken, unimpressed by status, moved by faith — He still is. His compassion did not have an era. The same today: not a historical figure to admire but a present person to approach, this morning, unchanged.

And the same for ever, which quietly settles the future you keep trying to secure. Whatever changes this year brings, the One who holds you through them will be exactly who He has always been. Anchor there, and the day’s churn loses its power to unmoor you.
