Under his wings

He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
When the psalmist reaches for a picture of God's protection, he does not choose stone walls. He chooses feathers — a bird covering her young, close enough that they can feel warmth.
That tells you something about the kind of safety God offers. It is not distant and institutional; it is near and personal. You are not filed away in a fortress. You are gathered under wings.
Whatever you are facing today, you do not face it exposed. His truth is your shield, and his nearness is your shelter. Trust does not have to shout; it can simply nestle in.
