Walk humbly

16 July 2026 · 1 min read

He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
Micah 6:8, KJV

What does the LORD require? Micah's answer has steadied people for millennia: do justly, love mercy, walk humbly with thy God. Not a longer list. A deeper one.

Notice the verbs live in the ordinary: how you treat people fairly today, how gladly you show kindness, how closely you keep step with God. Religion can get complicated; obedience is usually plain.

Take the three into this one day. Just in your dealings, merciful in your judgments, humble in your walking. It is enough to fill a morning — and a life.
