Whiter than snow

Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
Psalm 51 is David at his lowest, with no excuse left. What he asks for is total: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Not managed. Not minimised. Clean.
Guilt tells you a stain that deep is permanent. The gospel disagrees. The God who invented forgiveness does not do partial work — what he washes is whiter than anything nature can bleach.
If something is heavy on your conscience this morning, pray David's prayer with him. It has been answered before, and it will be answered again.
