Jesus tells his ordinary, unimpressive followers something audacious: ye are the light of the world. Not try to be — are. A city set on a hill cannot be hid.
The pressure lifts when you hear it rightly. Lamps do not strain to shine; they simply burn where they are placed, and the placing is God's. Your street, your work, your kitchen table — that is the hill.
So let your light shine today, in deeds more than announcements. Someone in your ordinary path is navigating by more of it than you know.
