Not in vain

By Niall Florence · 26 July 2026 · 1 min read

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
1 Corinthians 15:58, KJV

Paul ends his great resurrection chapter not with a theory but a charge: be stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord — because your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

So much work feels vain: unseen, undone by Monday, unnoticed by anyone. Resurrection changes the arithmetic. If Christ is risen, then everything done for him is kept, counted, and carried forward.

The quiet faithfulness you will practise today — the patience, the small kindness, the honest work — none of it evaporates. In the Lord, nothing faithful is wasted.
