Sufficient

My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.
Paul had a thorn — he never says what, which is a kindness, because it lets the thorn be yours. He asked three times for it to be removed. Anyone who has prayed hard for something to stop knows what those three askings cost.
The answer was not removal. It was this sentence: my grace is sufficient for thee. Sufficient is an unglamorous word — not abundant-feeling, not overflowing-feeling, just enough. But enough, supplied daily, from an inexhaustible source, turns out to be one of the strongest arrangements in the world.
And then the reason that turns weakness inside out: my strength is made perfect in weakness. The very thing you wish were gone is the place His power settles most completely. You are not disqualified by the thorn. You may, in fact, be positioned by it.
