Once Saul, a fierce persecutor of the church, he was stopped on the Damascus road by the risen Christ and became Paul, apostle to the Gentiles. His name means small or humble — and though he called himself the least of the apostles and the chief of sinners, he carried the gospel across the Roman world and wrote thirteen letters that shape Christian faith to this day.
His summary of his own life is the believer's model: I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. From a prison cell he could still write, rejoice in the Lord alway.
Paul is a clean, strong, timeless classic — humble in meaning, towering in legacy.
