Bible Verses About New Beginnings

Scripture for fresh starts — new mercies, new creation, and the God who makes all things new.

God is the great author of fresh starts — new mornings, new hearts, new creation. Whatever you are beginning (or beginning again), these verses say it can start clean.

It is of the LORD’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
Lamentations 3:22–23, KJV

Mercies new every morning — the daily fresh start.

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
2 Corinthians 5:17, KJV

In Christ: a new creature, old things passed away.

Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.
Isaiah 43:18–19, KJV

Remember not the former things — behold, I will do a new thing.

A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
Ezekiel 36:26, KJV

The deepest renewal: a new heart, a new spirit.

Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 3:13–14, KJV

Forgetting what is behind, reaching forth to what is before.

And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.
Psalm 40:3, KJV

A new song put in the mouth — rescue turned to music.

And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
Revelation 21:5, KJV

The end of the story: behold, I make all things new.

And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God:
Ruth 1:16, KJV

A whole life restarted on one loyal sentence.

No past disqualifies you from God's next thing. The mercies are new this morning; step into the new beginning he is already writing.
