Scripture for the hard road — comfort in pain, purpose in it, and glory beyond it.
Scripture never pretends suffering away, but it refuses to leave it meaningless. It promises comfort in the pain, God's presence within it, and a glory that will make it look small. These verses are for the middle of the hard thing.
For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

Your pain is neither invisible to God nor wasted by him. He is near to the broken-hearted, at work even in the furnace, and preparing a glory that will outweigh it all. Hold on.
