Kindness is not weakness in the Bible; it is strength under grace. Because God has been kind to us, we are called — and freed — to be kind to others, even when they haven't earned it.
And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.
Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.
The golden rule, in Jesus' own words.
He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
The merciful man doeth good to his own soul: but he that is cruel troubleth his own flesh.

Kindness costs little and carries far. A gentle word, an unhurried moment, a mercy shown — these are the small ways the love of God reaches the world through us.
