When you are worn thin — Scripture on the strength God gives to those who have run out of their own.
There is a kind of tired that sleep doesn't touch. The Bible speaks often to it — not with a demand to try harder, but with the promise of a strength that isn't ours to manufacture.
These verses are for the weary and the worn. God's strength tends to arrive exactly where ours gives out.
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Renewed strength is promised to those who wait — not to those who strive.
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
