Doubt is not the opposite of faith; unbelief is. Scripture meets honest doubters with patience — Thomas, the father of the boy, the disciples on the sea — and helps their faith rather than shaming it. These verses are for the questioning heart.
And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.
