Revival begins not out there but in here — one heart at a time. This prayer is for God to move afresh: in us, in his church, and in a weary world.
The prayer
Father, we need you to move again. Our hearts have grown cool, our churches sleepy, our land forgetful of you. Wilt thou not revive us again?
Begin the reviving in me. Search my heart, stir my first love, and burn away what has gone lukewarm. Let revival start on my knees before it spreads anywhere else.
Breathe on your church. Wake the sleeping, gather the scattered, and fill your people with holy fire and fresh love for the lost.
And pour out your Spirit on this generation — that many who do not know you would come home. Do it again, Lord, in our day. Amen.
Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?
Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee? — revival is God's work, but it answers praying people. Begin with your own heart.
