The prayer
Father, you see the thing in front of me, and you see how small I feel beside it.
You told Joshua: be strong and of a good courage, for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. Speak the same word over me now.
Give me courage that does not depend on the fear leaving — the kind that walks in trembling and obeys anyway.
You are with me wherever I go. On that fact alone, I will take the next step. Amen.
Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
The command comes with company: for the LORD thy God is with thee. Courage is mostly remembered presence.
