Father, thank you for my grandchildren — for each name, each face, each personality you have made. They are the crown of my age and the joy of my prayers.
Watch over them where I cannot: their schools, their screens, their friendships, their faith. Guard their bodies and their hearts.
Let them come to know you early and love you long — your mercy is from everlasting to everlasting upon children's children, and I claim that promise over each of them by name.
Give me the years and the moments to tell them what I have seen you do. And when my telling is done, let my prayers keep working long after. Amen.
But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children’s children;
His righteousness unto children's children — pray them by name; no prayer over a grandchild expires.
