A Prayer for Salvation
A simple prayer to receive Christ — confessing him as Lord and trusting his rescue.
No prayer saves by its wording — God looks at the heart turning to him. But words help the turning. If you are ready to come to Christ, these words are a door.
The prayer
God, I come to you as I am. I have sinned — against you, and against others — and I cannot fix myself.
I believe Jesus is your Son, that he died on the cross for my sins, and that you raised him from the dead.
Jesus, I confess you now as my Lord. Forgive me, wash me clean, and make me new. I hand you my past, my present, and everything ahead.
Thank you for receiving everyone who comes — including me, including now. I am yours. Amen.
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Thou shalt be saved — the promise is plain. If you prayed this and meant it, tell someone, find a Bible-teaching church, and begin. Heaven has already begun celebrating.
