Father, thank you for this home. Before the pictures are hung, we hang this prayer over every room: be Lord here.
Except you build the house, they labour in vain that build it — so build this one. Build peace into its walls, laughter into its kitchen, rest into its bedrooms, and welcome at its door.
Guard this home from harm and from quieter intruders — busyness, coldness, unforgiveness. Let all who visit feel something they cannot quite name, and let it be you.
As for this house, we will serve the LORD. Amen.
