For the place you spend your days — integrity, influence, and work as worship.
We spend a large share of our lives at work, and it is not outside God's interest. This prayer is for your workplace — to work well, treat people rightly, and let your faith show quietly.
The prayer
Father, I spend so many of my hours at work; I do not want them to be hours you have no part in. Be with me there.
Help me to work heartily, as unto you — with integrity when shortcuts tempt, with excellence even when unnoticed, with honesty in every dealing.
Give me grace for the difficult people and wisdom for the pressures. Let me be a quiet steadiness others are glad to work beside, and let my life point to you without a word when words would not be welcome.
Bless the work of my hands, and use even my ordinary job for your purposes. May my desk be an altar today. Amen.
