Father, you are knitting this child together even now — you cover them in the secret place while we wait to meet them.
Watch over every hidden stage of the forming. Bring this little one to birth whole and well, in your good time.
Strengthen the mother who carries this child: her body through its labour of months, her heart through its worries. Give her rest, and moments of pure anticipation.
We trust you with what we cannot see — you have always done your best work out of sight. Amen.
