The prayer
Father, thank you for this morning of mornings — for the Child born in Bethlehem, unto us, unto me.
In all today's noise and gladness, keep one room of my heart quiet, like the stable: a place where the wonder can lie down.
Thank you for every gift under the tree, and for the Gift none of them can match — Jesus, your Son, given because you so loved the world.
Bless everyone gathered here, and everyone missing from the table. Let the joy of this day be the deep kind — the good tidings kind — and let it last past the leftovers. Happy birthday, King Jesus. Amen.
